Descriptions
One line
Build an empire, tile by tile: a turn-based 4X strategy game in your browser.
Short
Tessera4X is a turn-based 4X strategy game that runs entirely in the browser. Found cities, research a six-era tech tree and raise an army, then win by conquest, by the calendar, or by raising one of three wonders that end the game. There is nothing to install and no account: it saves as you play.
Long
Tessera4X is a turn-based 4X strategy game that runs entirely in the browser, with no install, no account and no server. Players uncover a hex world, found cities, work the land, research a tech tree from the ancient era to the modern one, and contend with up to five rival civilizations run by an AI that plays by exactly the same rules.
A game is won by the sword, by the calendar, or by raising one of three wonders that end it: the Concord, the Meridian or the Laurel Arch. Combat is deterministic, so the forecast shows exactly what a battle will do, and diplomacy runs on a ledger in which every war keeps score. Version 1.3 added mods: a single JSON file renames and retunes the game's units, buildings, wonders, technologies and civilizations. A shared world is a link that deals a friend the same map, with your result to beat.
